Horizon Prep’s 20^th Annual Spirit Run

For the past 19 years, Horizon Prep students and families have raised over $770,000 for those in need through the Spirit Run. The Lord has used our hands and feet to clothe, feed, and care for people in the name of Jesus , and we will be lacing up our sneakers to run again on Friday, March 28th!

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

In Deed and Truth (South Sudan)

Horizon Prep has been supporting "In Deed and Truth Ministries" and the Kuj family for over 20 years.  The critical and life-saving work that they are doing through their hospital and maternity ward has saved thousands of lives and provides essential medical services in rural South Sudan.  The money raised through the Spirit Run will help to restock the medications in the clinic for another year. For more information about the Kuj family and their ministry, please visit their website or check them out on social media.

Compassion International

When considering the legacy of the Horizon Prep Spirit Run, child sponsorship has been a major component since the beginning. We are excited to continue our partnership with Compassion International. Every class starting in 1^st grade sponsors a child their age in another country. Visit Compassion to find out more about what’s involved in child sponsorship. 

Guatemala Buenas Nuevas

Through the efforts and guidance of Stuardo Bonilla, Horizon’s Facility Director and native of Guatemala, three churches have been established throughout Guatemala serving around 1000 kids and adults. The first church was founded in 2021 and is located in Chimaltenango, an hour and a half outside of Antigua. It now operates a dental clinic one day a week and a medical clinic one day a week. The church building also serves as a school for local children and functions as a place of worship on Sundays. The second church, which also serves as a clinic and school, was started in 2023 in San Juan Cotzal, in the Department of Quiche. The third church, clinic, and school is currently under construction and is located in Alta Verapaz, Camposanto I. In February, the Horizon Prep Jr./Sr. missions team had the privilege of visiting the church outside of Antigua, meeting, and worshiping alongside its members. The impact and work being carried out in these churches are transforming lives and shaping futures for eternity. With Stuardo’s assistance, funds raised from the Spirit Run will go toward completing the construction of the third church location.
